Building on the elegance and delicate femininity for which the Ralph & Russo house is renowned, the collection celebrates Spring and its connotations of regeneration and rebirth.
The elegance of Chinese calligraphy is referenced in the hand-painted peonies and tulips, which appear in sapphire, blush pink and lavender grey. Organza petal appliqué glistens alongside crystal dewdrops on three-dimensional silk threadwork. Modern and architectural peplums complement the 1950s hourglass while corseted bustiers feature under opaque robes. Fluid kimonos gracefully expose shoulders, which are at other times, enveloped by fragile feathered boleros.
The Spring/Summer 2016 collection brings a new aesthetic while subtly blending and celebrating the juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary inspiration.
